Camp Anne Jackson Wilton, NH

Camp Anne Jackson is located in Wilton Center, NH. The camp is situated on 79 acres of beautiful fields and forest with a small pond for swimming and boating. There is a 2-story winterized lodge, with a full kitchen, indoor bathroom and year-round running water. The lodge is heated by a propane heater.

The camping area is a short hike down from the lodge and has eight units, each with a screened adirondack shelter, picnic tables and fire pits. There is ample space around each shelter to pitch tents. A pavilion is available for shared use unless a troop/group reserves it specifically. A small pond is available for nature study, swimming and boating (with a certified lifeguard). There are large field areas for games and a fire circle with benches. There are three composting toilet buildings located in the lower part of camp.

FACILITIES

LODGE
Sleeps 16 on mattresses upstairs and has a full kitchen with sink, stove and refrigerator. During the winter it is heated with a propane heater. Do not use the fireplace, the chimney is cracked. An indoor bathroom offers 3 toilets and running water.

Adirondack Shelters & Composting Toilets
There are eight units, each with one screened adirondack, fire pit and picnic table. Each shelter can accommodate 10-12 Brownies or 5-10 older girls. There are three composting toilet buildings in lower camp. Please do not wash dishes or dispose of food in sinks near CTS building.

SUPPLIES AVAILABLE:
Cooking: fire buckets located in trading post building.
Cleaning: (for adirondacks and composting toilets - located in trading post building) rakes, buckets, cleanser, Pinesol, garbage cans, garbage bags, brooms, dustpans, sponges, toilet brushes, toilet paper, sandpaper and gloves.

Pavilion
There is a pavilion with picnic tables, electric lights, and fireplace.

SWIMMING AND BOATING

There is a small pond available in the lower camp for swimming and boating. The following rules must be followed by all groups.

  1. You must have a lifeguard for every 25 swimmers and every 12 boaters.The lifeguard or someone else must have current First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. The lifeguard must have current lifeguard certification from American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America or the YMCA. There must be one adult watcher for every 10 people in the water. The lifeguard must be over 18.
  2. To swim and boat prior arrangements must be made with Jessica x 177. You will receive special swimming and boating information. Upon request, rescue equipment and boats might be available.
  3. The lifeguard must have a rescue tube and develop a whistle safety system. (1 blast attention, 2 blasts buddy check, 3 blasts exit the water immediately). For boating there must be a visual and auditory system for signaling boaters in case of an emergency.
  4. Swimming must be in the designated roped off area.
  5. Lifeguard should check the swimming areas for hazards before girls enter the water.
  6. An emergency phone is located at the lodge.
  7. Life Jackets must be worn by all boaters, at all times.
  8. You must supply a first aid kit with a pocket mask that must be at the swimming/boating area.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

  1. Drinking water is available in the lodge year-round and in the lower campground from May 15 to October 1.
  2. Fire permit will be secured by caretaker for the season. Call number provided (in emergency information) to check on current fire conditions before you go.
  3. Do not use water to put out fires in wood stoves (lodge) or brick fireplace (pavilion) - they may crack.
  4. The campground bathrooms are Composting Toilets (CTS). They are environmentally friendly and depend on natural processes. Put only human waste and toilet paper in toilet. Do not add any water or chemicals.
  5. Do not use fireplace in lodge, chimney is cracked.

Frye's Measure Mill - Frye's Measure Mill follows documented Shaker traditions as outlined by historians Edward and Faith Andrews to painstakingly create Shaker boxes with native maple, hand bent around wooden shaping molds, and fastened with copper tacks. Tours available June through October on Saturday afternoons.
