OFFICERS
Anne M. Edwards
President/Board Chair
Milford, NH
Employer: State of New Hampshire, Office of the Attorney General
As a Girl Scout, I had many opportunities to do things and see
things that I would not have been able to do otherwise. I had what
I consider to be a life forming experience when, at 14 years old,
I traveled with a group of Girl Scouts and two leaders to GSUSA's
National Center West in Wyoming. I spent two weeks experiencing
the West and meeting girls from all over the country. I want to
help provide that type of opportunity to as many of the girls we
serve today as possible.
Other professional
affiliations:
New Hampshire Bar Association member

Barbara Barrett
1st Vice Chair

Employer: Manager at AAF Consulting Services, Wellesley, MA
I serve on the Board to give back to the community, especially
to such a worthwhile organization for young women; to give back
to an organization who has given me opportunities; to help perpetuate
the organization for future young women.
Patricia Casey
2nd Vice Chair
Nashua, NH
Employer: HR Manager, New Hampshire Audubon Society
I have been a Girl Scout for over 25 years and my experiences
as a girl, a staff member and volunteer have shown me how powerful
an experience this is for girls and women. Girl Scouting literally
changes the lives of girls and the volunteers who work with them.
I am pleased and honored to put my experiences to work as a board
member. I want to help the organization remain true to its traditions
and the ultimate mission of building girls of courage, confidence
and character while evolving to meet the needs of girls for today
and in the future.
Marie Hall
3rd Vice Chair
Newmarket, NH
Employer: Lamprey Health Care, also Portsmouth Regional Hospital
Over 25 years in Girl Scouting, both girl and adult member. I've
served as a volunteer in most adult positions. I think I am able
to advocate for the needs of both girls and adult volunteers. I
want to leave a legacy for girls of the future. In my work everyday,
I see the effects on teenage girls who lack adult guidance and appropriate
role-modeling. Through my work on the Board, I hope to assist in
the raising of enough funds to reach all girls in need.

Unfortunately I was not involved in Girl Scouting while growing
up, but always heard my mother's wonderful stories from her days
as a Girl Scout. I first became involved at the University of New
Hampshire, through Kappa Delta's national affiliation with Girl
Scouts of the USA. As Vice President of Philanthropy, I helped my
Chapter to become one of the first four chapters nationally to pioneer
Studio 2B. I graduated in 2004 with dual Bachelors of Art in English
and Communication. My passion for Philanthropy has joined with my
passion for the Girl Scouts as I learn more and more about this
wonderful organization.

As a Lifetime Girl Scout, I am pleased to serve on the Board.
The Girl Scout family is welcoming and a way for me to meet members
of the community while sharing my life experiences which support
the goals and objectives of Swift Water Council. In my profession,
I work to provide healthy, safe, and nurturing environments in schools;
it seems natural for me to do the same with the Girl Scouts.

other challenges they will face in life.

Having been well served by the Scouting movement as a youth, this provides an opportunity to give back, in a small way, to the youth of today. The GSSWC Board also gives me an opportunity to provide leadership and business skills to a very valuable organization serving girls and young women across the state.

Girl Scouting has always been important to me. My mother enrolled
me in Brownies at age 5 and I have been a Girl Scout ever since.
I can remember the day my mother singed me up to be a Brownie, thinking
it was so cool because I thought it involved dessert. I was sad
to learn that brownies were not actually involved, but I perked
right up once I heard about the cookies. Fortunately, I discovered
all of the other wonderful things that Girl Scouts has to offer
and have been involved ever since. In 2001, I received my Gold Award
for running a drunk driving awareness program for my high school
prom. In 2005, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Political
Science from the University of New Hampshire. During my time at
UNH, I remained involved with Girl Scouts through the Kappa Delta
Sorority and its national affiliation with GSUSA. At UNH, I served
as the 2003-2004 Student Body Vice President. I am currently pursuing my MBA.

program for all girls.

Girl Scouting supported me as I was growing up. It provided the
opportunity to explore and grow and become the person I am. As a
board member, I can combine my experience in Girl Scouting with
my experience in business to help the council provide the same opportunities
to girls today.
Deb Mulcrone

I have a long history with Girl Scouts, as a volunteer, employee
of Swift Water and a mom, the Girl Scout organization embodies a
solid foundation of values and principles, yet its timeless appeal
is its flexibility to adapt to diverse needs and populations.

I was a Girl Scout from Brownies to Cadettes, and my troop leaders
stressed service, reaching your potential, and positive female role
models. As an adult, I have striven to continue to follow these
ideals as a mom and community volunteer. The Board is a place that
we can help girls to grow, learn, reach their potential, and contribute
to society, all the while having fun!
Suzan H. Schafer-Meiszner
New Ipswich, NH
Employer: Keene State College
I was a Girl Scout and my daughter was a Girl Scout. I still
remember the first time I sold cookies and we still buy Girl Scout Cookies
annually. Women have so many more opportunities today than their
grandmothers and even their mothers. I believe in getting young
women involved in a variety of activities -- intellectual, physical,
emotional and aesthetic -- and know their experiences will permit them
to make choices about their own lives and future. When you open
your mind and explore, when you try and fail or succeed you are
growing and enabling yourself to be in control of your own life
and destiny. The Girl Scouts provides tremendous opportunities for
young women and we all benefit.
Other professional
affiliations:
Active in New Ipswich town government
Volunteer for local National Public Radio Station
Volunteer for Red Cross
Sherry Toscano

Employer: Food Service Director for Brandeis University, Waltham, MA
This past year I was reintroduced to Girl Scouts when asked to co-chair the 12th annual Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council Golf Tournament. Helping organize this event rekindled the love I had for Girl Scouts as a member during my childhood in Pennsylvania. I believe the valuable experiences I had as a child helped me develop into the successful wife and professional that I am today. It is my pleasure to give back to the organization that has done so much for me.
