MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

OPERATION COOKIE DELIVERS MORE THAN 12,000

BOXES OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES TO U.S. TROOPS

BEDFORD, NH -- Four Bedford Girl Scout troops on spring break helped load a moving van full of Operation Cookie Girl Scout Cookies on April 21. A couple of hours later, the cookies were unloaded at the NH Air National Guard Base at Pease AFB. One of the helpers, Master Sgt. Mike Ploof, actually received the "taste of home" last year from us when he was in Afghanistan! "You can't imagine how much that meant to us," he said. Below is what the Service Center hall looked like before the delivery, and below that is the garage at the NH Air National Guard Base where cookies are stored prior to being sent.

                COOKIE DIVAS HAVE THEIR DAY!

Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council had 34 Cookie DIvas this year -- girls who sold more than 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies each. A few were returning divas, but this number was more than double last year's. The girls, from first-graders on up, traveled to Boston in a luxury motor coach to see the Blue Man Group and even got autographs in their handmade autograph books. The reviews are in, and the girls had a blast!

Molly the Dog guest starred at spring

Seussical Activity Center in Manchester

EIghteen girls, kindergarten through second grade, enjoyed a special in-school day camp during April vacation that featured Dr. Seuss-inspired games, songs and crafts. Diane Frost of the Animal Rescue League in Bedford visited one day with her therapy dog Molly, to teach the girls about animal safety. Molly was a huge hit, especially when she fetched items by name when directed around the classroom.

Humane educator Diane Frost lets a girl give Molly the dog a treat by holding it our in her hand flat so Molly can take it without nipping any fingers.
