Swift Water Realignment News Vol. 3

Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council and the Girl Scout Council of Vermont have formally begun the process of realigning our jurisdictions to become one high capacity council. To date, we have come together to provide new camp, program, and training opportunities for girls and volunteers. But we need your help to succeed in this historic process – it is our goal to develop the very best Girl Scout Council possible to ensure we meet our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Your input is needed!

Soon we will advertise for the Chief Executive Officer position for our combined council, and we would like your help in the process. A survey has been developed to get your opinions regarding the important characteristics, skills, and knowledge of our new council’s CEO. Your opinions will help inform our selection process.

Please click on the following link and respond candidly. Your answers will be anonymous and, most importantly, will be very helpful to us. If you cannot access the link, please contact Sheryl Sweet at the Swift Water Service Center (603) 627-4158 ext. 134, and she will send you a hard copy version to complete.

This survey is now closed.

Help us with the Council name!

We are looking for submissions with regards to the name for our realigned Council.

The new name must meet specific criteria: 1) it must start with the words Girl Scouts; 2) it must include a regional reference; and 3) it must be new to both councils involved.

The Council Realignment Committee will review all of the submissions and submit no more than three (3) proposals that meet the above criteria to GSUSA for approval. We are looking forward to seeing the creativity of our members!

After the name is selected, there will be other opportunities for involvement such as patch submittals which represent the jurisdiction and culture of our new Council.

Send your name submissions to: pmellor@swgirlscouts.org
