SO-KO-WE-GI Cabin Woodstock, VT

SO-KO-WE-GI is a one-room cabin located on Mt. Tom in Woodstock, VT. Swift Water owns the cabin but not the land around it. A trail makes its way up to the cabin (about a 10 to 15 minute walk). Do not attempt to drive up.
SO-KO-WE-GI is rustic, there is no electricity and no telephone. A wood stove provides heat. There are many trails around Mt. Tom which lead to some nice views of the town of Woodstock.

FACILITIES

CABIN
The cabin sleeps 20 people on the floor. There are benches, a picnic table and fire pit. Please note: there are no mattresses available. Heat is provided by a wood stove. Firewood for stove is provided. There are fireplaces outdoors for cooking. Water is available from an outside faucet from May 15 to October 1 (depending on weather, water may not be on until June 1st). There are two flush toilets from May 15 to October 1 (weather permitting). Winter campers must bring water and dig latrines.

Supplies Available:
Cleaning: brooms, dustpans, rakes, toilet paper, Pinesol, buckets, cleanser, gloves, sandpaper, sponges and toilet brushes.

VEHICLES AND PARKING

There is limited parking off the road going to the cabin, beside cemetery. Be aware of parking restrictions as posted on the street. Park on the camp road. Leave room for emergency vehicles.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

  1. Bring two 9 volt batteries for smoke detectors.
  2. Bring battery operated lights - no open flames permitted in the cabin.
  3. No cooking supplies are provided.
  4. Stop at Police station to pick up fire permit. Police station is on the left as you drive into town.
  5. Bring enough sturdy garbage bags to take garbage home with you. There are no dumpsters on site.
