Sunset Valley Gorham, NH

Sunset Valley is located in Gorham, NH in the northern portion of the Mount Washington Valley. The 30 acre site consists of rolling meadows and forests. The Barn and the Program Center are both winterized lodges. The Barn provides sleeping space in the loft for 16 and space in the downstairs area to work, play, and prepare food. In the Program Center there are three bunk rooms sleeping a total of 24, an institutional kitchen and a central meeting place. Both the Barn and Program Center are heated by an oil furnace and have running water year-round. The field provides space for camping (bring your own tents) and a toilet building with flush toilets is available from May 15 to
October 1 (weather permitting).

FACILITIES

LODGE - Barn
Sleeps 16 people on mattresses on floor in upstairs loft. Kitchen with sink, gas stove and refrigerator. Fireplace and wood available. Building is heated with oil furnace. Bathrooms are shared with the Program Center.

LODGE - Program Center
Sleeps 24 in three bunk rooms holding 6, 8, and 10. Full institutional kitchen with sinks, stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Special instructions posted. Large meeting area with tables and chairs, TV and VCR, wood stove (with directions for use) and wood. Six toilets and showers (groups using the Barn will use one bathroom in the Program Center).

PAVILION, TENT SITES AND FIELD BATHROOM
12 people per site on open field area. Bath house with sink and toilets available May 15 to October 1( weather permitting). Take all garbage to the dumpster in the parking area. Each site has fire pit for cooking and a picnic table.

VEHICLES AND PARKING

All cars must be parked in the parking area near the lodge. Do not drive on the grass. Drive 10 MPH or less on camp property. Back in parking only (allows for quick exit in the event of an emergency). Drive the speed limit or less as you approach camp.

SWIMMING

Swimming is available at Moose Brook State Park.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

  1. Appalachian Mountain Club (trail and weather information) 603-466-2721.
  2. Quiet hours in the Barn and Program Center are 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
  3. When using the campground - firewood is available from the pavilion.
  4. Fire permit will be secured by caretaker for the season - check with caretaker about current fire conditions.
  5. Water is available in the field from May 15 - October 1 (weather permitting).
  6. Recycling containers are in Barn and Program Center.
