Cookie Sale Program — $$$ Payment and Direct Deposit Information$$$

• The Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council has set the price at $3.50 per box. THIS IS THE ONLY PRICE YOU MAY CHARGE FOR COOKIES. The price of each box, as well as the licensed baker of the cookies and sale dates, can vary between each Girl Scout Council. Our cookies are produced by Little Brownie Bakers.

• It is GSSWC policy to accept money from a customer ONLY at the time of delivery. Please stress to your Girl Scouts not to take money from customers at the time of order-taking.

• Everyone is encouraged to use the direct deposit system. For your convenience, Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council has two bank accounts for groups to deposit money—Citizen’s Bank and Chittenden Bank.
• All checks deposited must have the name, address and telephone number of the person submitting the check. Write your Troop # on the “memo” line of each check and the name of the Girl Scout who accepted the check.
• Complete the three-part NCR deposit slip. DEPOSIT SLIPS MUST HAVE THE TROOP NUMBER WRITTEN ON THEM—this is the only way your troop can be properly credited.
• Carefully count the money and coins and endorse all of the checks.
• The teller will validate the pink and yellow copies of your deposit slips and give them to you with a bank receipt.
• Give the validated pink and yellow copies of your deposit slips (make sure the troop number can be seen on each) to your Delivery Manager.
• KEEP THE BANK RECEIPT FOR YOUR RECORDS.

• Use the Council’s cookie account at Citizen’s or Chittenden banks to direct deposit. The Council will take the necessary action if a check is returned for any reason.
• If you decide to pay your cookie bill in one “lump sum” with a troop check, YOU accept the charges associated
  with any returned checks you deposited into your troop account.
• When depositing checks into the GSSWC cookie account, the bank teller will ask you to put “For Deposit Only”, the account number, and “GSSWC” on the back of each check when endorsing them. Save time for everyone at the bank, and do this before you go.
• If a check is returned NSF, the account the check was written from will be electronically debited for the value of the check and a processing fee.

• DO NOT deposit your troop profit in the GSSWC account.
• Avoid busy or rush hour times.
• Double check your receipt and be sure to have your deposit slips validated.
• Make sure the amount of money deposited matches the total on the deposit slip.
• To save time, endorse each check before you go to the bank with the Swift Water account number and “GSSWC”
