The American Young Ambassadors Program
Encourage girls to apply for the American Young Ambassadors Program, Ltd. is a global leadership program for 25-30 exceptional youth, ages 15-18, recognized for the work they have accomplished in their communities. The youth selected for this program are of significant accomplishment academically, athletically or through public service efforts in their community. They will represent the United States as Young Ambassadors-at-large at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, August 4-17, 2008. By combining the dynamics of leadership, service and learning, the American Young Ambassadors put forth to the world this country’s greatest asset – our youth. Applicants must be US citizens. Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program recognizes middle and high school youth solely on the basis of volunteer work in their communities. This unique program is conducted ont he local level through middle school and high schools and through these officially designated local organizations: Girl Scout Councils, county 4-H organizations, American Red Cross chapters, YMCAs, and many more. We encourage girls who have provided significant community service over the past year to participate in the 2008 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Girl Scouts who have recently earned Silver and Gold awards may be particularly good candidates.

Sea World/Busch Gardens/Fujifilm Enivronmental Award
Since 1993, the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks have recognized the outstanding efforts of K-12 students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. The "SeaWorld/Busch Gardens/Fujifilm Environmental Excellence Awards" provides school and community groups with a monetary award, national recognition and some well-deserved fun at one of our parks. From the shores of Maine to the California coast, students and adult leaders working on behalf of wildlife and wild places continue to amaze and inspire us.
WILL YOU BE NEXT? Eight winning groups are selected each year to win $10,000. One environmental educator/leader each year receives $5,000.

NOMINATE A YOUNG ECO-HERO FOR A $2,000 BARRON PRIZE!
The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes seeks nominations for its 2007 awards. The Barron Prize honors young people ages 8 to 18 who have shown leadership and courage in public service to people and our planet. Each year, ten national winners each receive $2,000 to support their service work or higher education. Half of each year¹s winners are chosen for their work to protect the environment. CORINNE JEANNINE SCHILLINGS GRANT & SCHOLARSHIP
The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation is dedicated to preserving the memory of Corinne Schillings, a 26 year old woman who lost her life in the Baltimore Water Taxi accident on March 6, 2004. Corinne was a Silver Award Girl Scout and a 1999 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Corinne recieved her undergraduate degree in foreign languages, majoring in Italian; she also studied Spanish, French, and Portuguese. She spent two semesters studying in Italy, first in Florence and then Milan. During her study abroad in Florence, Corinne met her future fiance, Andrew Roccella, who also died in the accident. Corinne believed strongly in higher education for women and in learning about various cultures through language. The foundation will award scholarships and grants to deserving young women who reflect Corinne's aspirations, values, and enthusiams for life.
